The ETPN organizes with INL the major conference on Nanomedicine in Europe in 2019.
The most important European event in the field of Nanomedicine will be hosted by INL – International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory, in Braga, Portugal, from the 17th to the 19th of June, in a joint organization from INL and ETPN, the European Technology Platform on Nanomedicine. For the first time, we merge the Scientific conference ENM and thee 14th annual event of the ETPN to create a new and unique event
NME19 brings the Nanomedicine community together.
This international meeting will gather 300 participants from 30 countries, who will be updated about the latest developments on nanotechnology applied to medical sciences and clinical practice. More than 75 speakers, among which more 50 talented women, will share their excellent science and success stories in bringing nano to the clinic.
The diagnosis and treatment of a large array of diseases is being revolutionized by the evolution that nanomedicine is operating, with a special highlight in the fight against cancer, one of the most prevalent diseases worldwide.
Conventional medical approaches are struggling to deliver optimal clinical outcomes at an affordable cost, putting extra weight over the already burdened national health systems. Nanomedicine is becoming increasingly relevant in providing better clinical results, less invasive, with smarter dosage and higher precision, sometimes for a fraction of the cost.
During three days, scientists, technology providers, entrepreneurs, clinicians and policy makers will participate in the discussions about the new applications of nanotechnologies and other emerging medical technologies.
NME19, a rich program, inspiring speakers and preparation of Horizon Europe!
NanoMed Europe 2019 will particularly focus in the translation of nanotechnology to the market and in narrowing the gap between the research done in the labs and its clinical application for the benefit of patients and society. Live sessions of the HealthTechTAB, a free-of-charge custom mentoring service provided by the European Project NOBEL, will boost the development of selected innovations in healthcare.
The official NanoMed Europe 2019 Opening Session, on June 18th, at 9h30, will be presided by the Portuguese Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, Manuel Heitor. The Spanish Minister of Science will be represented by Juan José Serrano, the Spanish Deputy Director General for the Internationalization of Science and Innovation. This ceremony will also count with the presence of the Mayor of Braga, Ricardo Rio, of INL Director-General, Lars Montelius, and of the ETPN Chairman, Patrick Boisseau.
We have invited great keynote speakers: Laurent Lévy (Nanobiotix), Jennifer Grossman (NIH/NIAID), Maria José Alonso (Universidade de Santiago de Compostela), Olivier T. Guénat (AlveoliX AG ) and Heico Frima (European Commission)
ETPN is shaping the future of Nanomedicine in Europe at NME19
The topics that will be discussed in the program of NanoMed Europe 2019 will cover major developments as NanoXray, the recently approved first-in-class radioenhancer for improved radiotherapy, nanomedicine against infectious diseases, targeted drug delivery, integration of health technologies along the Continuum of Care, among and many others. Strategic meetings organized by the ETPN will also help to prepare Horizon Europe, the upcoming Work Programme of the European Commission, starting in 2021.
We look forward very much to welcoming you in Braga at #NME19 Nanomed Europe 2019!
