What is Effectrial?
EffecTrial, an ERA4Health initiative, aims to foster pragmatic comparative-effectiveness trials in the field of non-communicable diseases. These trials are critical for improving clinical decision-making by comparing the effectiveness of approved healthcare interventions, such as diagnostics, treatments, and lifestyle modifications, under real-world conditions. This transnational call encourages collaboration among healthcare organizations, research teams, and public health entities to conduct multi-country, investigator-initiated clinical studies (IICS).
The program targets major public health challenges, focusing on cardiovascular diseases, metabolic disorders, nutrition and lifestyle-related conditions, and non-communicable respiratory diseases. Projects are expected to demonstrate significant health, economic, and policy impacts, while adhering to Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) principles and ethical guidelines. EffecTrial serves as a cornerstone for advancing collaborative research to benefit patients and citizens across Europe.
