Dear ETPN members, dear colleagues from the European Nanomedicine community, please find below three open positions to work in the Prof. Maria José Alonso’s group in the University of Santiago Compostela (USC) in Spain.

1) Postdoctoral Researcher: project on a new COVID19 nanotherapy

 Project focused on:  “Development of a new COVID19 therapy in collaboration with a spin-off company and a highly stimulating European Consortium”. 

Application Requirements: 

  • PhD in an appropriate discipline (Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Biology, Biomedical Engineering…). 
  • Must have previous experience in micro/nanoencapsulation, with emphasis in polymer-based delivery systems and encapsulation of biomolecules (antibodies, peptides, proteins, oligonucleotides, nucleic acids). 
  • Experience in the analytical techniques (HPLC, LC-MS) 
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills. 
  • Upper intermediate level of English or higher. 

Previous experience working in industry as a scientific project manager will be highly acknowledged

2) Postdoctoral Researcher: project on Theranostics of Glioblastoma using Nanotechnology

 Project focused on:

Application Requirements: 

  • PhD in an appropriate discipline (Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biology, Biotechnology, Engineering…).
  • Previous experience on nanotechnology applied to the formulations of drugs and/or functionalizationof nanocarriers.
  • Experience in analytical techniques, such as HPLC, LC-MS, ELISA…and/or others
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills, as shown in articles and conference contributions.
  • Upper intermediate level of English or higher.

Work experience in different laboratories, including the names and contact of previous advisors will be highly acknowledged

3) Technical assistant contract offer

Background Information

Prof. Alonso’s Lab, based in the CIMUS Research Institute of the USC, is specialized in “Nanotechnologies applied to the design of drug delivery systems”. Information about the group activities can be found at: http://www.usc.es/grupos/mjalonsolab/

Purpose

To participate in a number of projects in collaboration with Industry.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. To carry out the experiments necessary for the project
  2. To keep accurate and detailed records of experiments
  3. To be responsible for day-to-day purchase of materials, and other routine activities necessary to run the project.

Requirements

  • Graduated in an appropriate discipline (Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Biology, Biomedical Engineering…
  • Experience in research laboratories with emphasis in colloidal sciences, biochemistry, and pharmaceutical technology
  • Experience in the analysis of biomolecules (Western Blot, ELISA, HPLC, LC-MS)
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to deliver to specific deadlines
  • Ability to be productive in an intense work environment
  • Capacity to develop compelling approaches and solutions to address project needs
  • Upper intermediate level of English or higher.

Funding and Duration

The post is funded for one year with the possibility to be extended.
